Noise Level Predictions to BS5228
Construction
& demolition noise can be predicted using the methods detailed in
BS5228. This is an important part of assessing the work to be carried
out when sensitive receivers are nearby. Also BS5228 predictions can be
used as part of a Section 61 submission to the Local Authority to agree
noise limits covering a project operating near to sensitive properties.

Site Noise Modelled
Site noise can be
modelled prior to commencement of works to ensure noise limits are not
exceeded. This may form part of a submission to a Local Authority prior
to a Section 61 Agreement being put into place.

Advice on Noise & Vibration Mitigation
Where
high levels of noise or vibration are likely to be generated, noise
& vibration mitigation can be employed to minimise the impact and
maximise the operational time the activities can take place.

Advice on Section 61 Agreements with Local Authorities
See above for submission of information to achieve a section 61 agreement.

Advice on Vibration Building Damage to BS7385
Inner
city construction & demolition frequently has to occur adjacent to
sensitive buildings which might suffer structural damage as a
consequence. Careful monitoring regimes can show that vibration levels
are within tolerance ranges and can alert the contractor when building
damage criteria is likely to be exceeded. Remote monitoring and
attended surveys can be designed to suit particular applications and we
have extensive experience in monitoring sites where vibration is an
issue.

Advice on Human Response to Vibration to BS6472
Human
response can form the basis of a monitoring exercise similar in many
respects to the building damage monitoring mentioned above. Monitoring
packages can be tailored to suit using the latest monitoring
instrumentation.

Noise & Vibration Nuisance Investigations
These
can take place when complaints are received from a local sensitive
property. Criteria representing building damage (BS7385) and human
response (BS6472) can be brought to bear on the prevailing conditions
on site. In addition noise complaints can be assessed under section 61
limits or with reference to BS4142.

Sound Insulation Risk Assessment Audits with regard to Conversion and Refurbishment
We
frequently carry out surveys of existing properties due for conversion
to enable economic specification of sound insulation. Ideally the
survey should be carried out prior to purchase to assess the likely
cost of upgrading the building in line with the Building Regulation
Specifications. The new Building Regulations Approved Document E 2002
will require post completion testing for converted property. We are
ideally situated to advise on this and specify sound insulation
treatment to meet the clients requirements.

Site Audits & Appraisals for "Best Practicable Means
We
carry out site inspections to snag acoustic issues in the construction
of new build and conversion property. We offer a
Construction/Demolition site audit service to minimise the
environmental impact of large scale construction projects and maximise
the work done during the day.

24hr Noise & Vibration Monitoring for Nuisance & Building Damage Criteria
We
offer a comprehensive monitoring package using the most modern
equipment available. We can offer remote monitoring if required. Ad can
tailor monitoring schemes to suit most budgets. We are also able to
hire out a modest amount of modern noise & vibration monitoring
equipment.

Noise at Work Regulation Surveys & Reports
We can assess the noise at work levels and advise on hearing protection zones and noise mitigation.
